We’ve recently reached a few exciting milestones for Platform1: our first rural and solar-powered License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras, expansion into Emalahleni (Witbank), a growing team and an office move.

In response to regular power outages, Platform1 has installed its first off-grid solution in Alexandra, Johannesburg, which will help limit interruptions to technology-enabled crime-fighting efforts. We also installed a camera on a rural, untarred road for one of our clients – another first for our company.

Our footprint continues to grow with expansion of our LPR network into Emalahleni (Witbank) and a move to a larger office in Woodstock, Cape Town. This growth is matched by new talent joining our team: Lyntina Aimes, Itumeleng Hlatswayo and Nduduzo Nkosi.

  • Lyntina strengthens our Cape Town office with her organisational and operational expertise.
  • Itumeleng adds a passion for software development and meticulous attention to detail to our Reporting & Insights function.
  • Nduduzo contributes skills in spatial data analysis and Geographic Information Systems, enhancing how our technology supports responders on the ground.

With these milestones, we’re entering an exciting new chapter — expanding our reach, strengthening our team, and growing the deployment of crime-fighting technology.
